I had a lot of Baptist friends in Michigan, and I remember their pastor remarking to me that he was friendly with several local Catholic priests, and he was struck by how few topics they actually disagreed on (the status of Mary, and actuality of the Eucharist, and the authority of the Pope were the ones he specifically mentioned)

I don’t take any of this personally because for decades the Catholic Church preached vociferously that anybody who wasn’t a Catholic was riding the express train straight to Hell.

We get to reap what we sow I guess. Or at least what Bishops and Cardinals had sown in our name.

I guess I would say that those baptist preachers were ignorant of their doctrine and the doctrines of Rome
