Where did Christ mention the Catholic Church?

“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Mat 6:18

Christ established HIS church. With Peter as it's head.

Gates are not an offensive device but a defensive one.

It doesn’t mean that the church will withstand the attacks of the enemy.

It means the enemy will not be able to withstand the offensive moves of the church.

Providing the church is obeying Christ and going out into the world proclaiming the gospel and making disciples.
