Lexington Board of Adjustment votes to allow Islamic Center on Armstrong Mill Road

After a debate of more than an hour, Lexington's Board of Adjustment voted 6-1 Friday to allow an Islamic community center on Armstrong Mill Road.

The existing Islamic Center, on South Limestone, had applied for a conditional use permit for a worship center on a 9-acre site on Armstrong Mill Road currently zoned agricultural.

I lived in Lexington and knew one of the zoning members, he resigned after an election unexpectedly. I asked him why and he said all the other members were women and they were crazy, the mayor was also a woman.

They are building these “community centers” in the Atlanta area also. Nothing more than an innocuous name for a mosque and a madrassa. It needs to be stopped and soon.

Absolutely a beautiful area...been thru there a number of times. My wife, originally from Colombia, and I took a cross country trip and she loved Lexington. Thart was 5 yrs ago.
