But -- at the site --- it's terrifically hard for me to read white on black background. Gives me a headache. Can that be changed?

Yes; just select the text and the contrast reverses.

However, when confronted by Jesus Christ, they know they are confronted by Absolute Power.

The centurion seemed to know that:

Luke 7:1-10   English Standard Version (ESV)

Jesus Heals a Centurion's Servant

After he had finished all his sayings in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum. Now a centurion had a servant[a] who was sick and at the point of death, who was highly valued by him. When the centurion[b] heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and heal his servant. And when they came to Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy to have you do this for him, for he loves our nation, and he is the one who built us our synagogue.” And Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. Therefore I did not presume to come to you. But say the word, and let my servant be healed. For I too am a man set under authority, with soldiers under me: and I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turning to the crowd that followed him, said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.” 10 And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant well.

Yet catholics probably pray more to Mary and utter her name more than any. Amazing.

Hail Mary, Mother of GOD, pray for us....

Hail Jesus, Son of Mary. pray for us...

YHWH is so holy that Jews will not pronounce it.

That’s a good prayer, too.

That is result of conditioning, not the command of YHWH.

The pre-Babylonian exile Hebrews said YHWH all the time. The post-Babylonian exile Hebrews who came back 70 years later had learned to whisper YHWH or not say it at all under penalty of death. The conditioning became tradition, and the tradition became enforced.

However, YHWH effectively says in the Third Commandment, “Do not let my name become a vain (nothing) thing.” It has nothing to do with swearing. It has everything to do with remembering his name, YHWH.

This tradition of hiding the name of YHWH even carries on in Catholic and Protestant bibles. The name YHWH is replaced with the word LORD nearly 7,000 times in modern mainline bibles.

And considering the letter J isn’t 2000 years old, maybe the name Jesus is also a tradition..

in my 1599 Geneva bible reprint the name Jesus is in acts 7: and Hebrew 4:8.

The more recent translated bibles have replaced the name Jesus with the English name Joshua in those two places.

The concordance I have has zero counts for the name Joshua in then new testament which confirms the Geneva bible reprint.

That isn’t done based on sound translation standards.. they didn’t translate the greek into english in those two places in our modern bibles..

They simply understood that those two passages were speaking of Joshua in the old testament and replaced those Jesus entries with the English name Joshua..

And if they can change two of the Jesus verses to joshua, why not the other 900 plus ?
Answer - tradition.

Add in the traditional holy days associated with the name Jesus that are not found in scripture (December 25, good Friday and easter Sunday) and it starts to look like another gospel and another savior has been created..

We all meet Him as Jesus, but He didn’t let me stay there...

You and I met him as Jesus, but he was kind enough to us to allow us learn his real name.

See you in Heaven if not sooner.

Blessings to you and yours.

Amazing Grace indeed..

And so very humbling.

It has caused me to reject the world and its premises.
Including what the world calls today- Monday.. He has moved me to test and prove all thing.

He taught me His calendar and how it matches His Word and His major life events, including His real birth day.
Tomorrow is just another work day in the world but scripture calls it His seventh day Sabbath..

And I never would have known any of it on my own... the world is not set up for His Kingdom.. but that is why we pray for His Kingdom to come..

May He bless you more than He has me!
