>>It’s interesting that nowhere does James (or Jesus) tell us to confess our sins to God alone.<<

Matthew 6:9 "This, then, is how you should pray: "'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,....

Matthew 6:12 and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Psalm 51:4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.

You would wonder why they don't realize all the old testament sacrifices were made to God....common sense would tell most anyone then that forgiveness through our now Great High Priest is now through Jesus.

What is it that so gets in their mind and hearts way to grasp these things....I often think they simply don't want to know truth unless it can be twisted to suite Catholicism... and by then it's done it's damage by filling them full of such self-rightousness they cannot see their errors.......Te Pharisees were likewise.

The catholic rituals, teachings and practices etc. all seem to come out of the Old testament....then they simply attach Jesus to make it palitable to their masses....while still maintaining the old practices...and then a whole lot more they've developed over the years.
