Many years ago (maybe 15) The Chronicle of Higher Education informed it’s readers that Singer was the nations most influential medical ethicist.
That is real power. Most hospitals in this country follow his philosophy on deciding patient treatment.
I would guess he is responsible for the idea that it’s good to starve and dehydrate people to death, that doctors should recommend abortion for downs babies and that treatment should be withheld for the elderly.
If they ever tried to withhold treatment from my mother, I think I would probably do something evil. I couldn't stand by for that. These people frighten me.
