To: Cry if I Wanna

That wasn’t my experience. I started off with the Baltimore Catechism and had no problems understanding anything. It all made perfect sense to me. And then...right in the middle of my education, they went to the Buddy Jesus coloring book method of “teaching.” AWFUL!

Anyway, I made sure my own kids (and my convert husband) were educated with the Baltimore Catechism, and they understand everything just fine.

Regards,

I agree with you. The Baltimore Catechism is still a good resource for the young ones. It gets the concepts into their heads. Then when they get older and their reason kicks in, the Catechism we are using now fleshes out the sentences they have learned in the Baltimore.

That touchy feely crap served no one. When I was teaching, my favorite question from the kids was, why? Then I knew they were paying attention.
