All scripture, inspired of God, is profitable to teach, to reprove, to correct, to instruct in justice, That the man of God may be perfect, furnished to every good work. (2 Tim 3:14-17)
This begins by reminding Timothy of the value of tradition, things that "have been committed to thee", presumably by St. Paul. It then explains that the Holy Scripture is inspired -- "all" of it, including the Deuterocanon that the Protestants decided to toss, no doubt, out of great love for the Scripture. The scripture can instruct, St. Paul continues, and is "profitable" in disputes and education; a priest cannot be perfect without the knowledge of it. All that is Catholic teaching.
