Now that you mention it, why is the commandment “Honor your mother and father”, rather than “Honor your mom and dad”?

Go study read what those who have studied the context in which Scripture exists. Scripture doesn't exist in a vacuum.

Words spoken by our Lord and others were in an exchange of ideas and thoughts and meanings.

People not bound by the dictates of the Catholics Church are free to peel the meaning apart.

Catholics forget that Christianity is essentially Judaism.

Salvation came from the Jews...not the Catholics.

The Old Testament points to Jesus...not to the Catholic Church.

I didn't "mention" it. I referenced Scripture to refute any false assertions coming from your non-suitor question. Besides which, you still have shown no Scripture to support or refute the theme of this thread. I will respond to your obvious attempt to defect or divert attention from the false status ascribed to Mary and give you this response from Paul! The question posted to start this thread is "Is Prayer/Veneration/Worship to Mary Biblical? The obvious conclusion is NO!

Ephesians 1: 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. ...

It's a bible thing...You guys wouldn't understand apparently...It's alright to acknowledge that you have a biological father...Obviously Jesus knew down the line a fake religion would come along and demand its followers call its leaders 'father'...And Jesus countered that in advance by telling us and you that there is only ONE spiritual Father and it ain't a priest in your religion, therefore, call no man father...No one gets away from stealing God's glory...It's really not difficult to understand...
