Catholics need to get back in the confessionals... when we contemplate our sins and how we have hurt God and others it helps put things back in their right place including a reminder that we are on Earth to serve and glorify God.

Bad guitar music, hugging and watered down homilies don’t stand a chance against the grace and love imparted by Catholicism’s most overlooked and often abandoned sacrament.

Amen.

When I went back to the tradtitional Latin Mass, I was sturck that the Confiteor is said three times, once by the priest and twice by the altar boys - that’s three times in each Mass that we contemplate our sins and ask forgiveness.

Contrast this with the “penitential rite” in the Novus Ordo, which often skips the Confiteor for some quick acknowledgement that does not allow any tiime for contemplation.

Your are 100% correct.

Nothing wrong with daily Mass either.

If we REALLY believed that the priest has the authority to say the words to change bread and wine into the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus, and we are honored to be able to take it in at Holy Communion WHY wouldn't we go to DAILY Mass? I asked myself that some years ago.

Now I go to daily Mass and Holy Communion as daily Mass keeps me VERY in touch with Our Lord. So, I end up going to the Sacrament of Confession once a month, as least. We receive much grace from the Sacraments. I will always need God's grace. Always.

God bless you and yours.
