OK, I'll be Sirius. Jesus gives a both-and picture: we are to occupy until He comes, as if He will never come, and simultaneously expect His coming to be immediate, at any moment. Since His coming is a good thing for us, being expecting doesn't mean we have to be constantly stressed as we expect His appearing, so that gives us the ability to occupy in the meantime.
