So true. We could stand being reminded of that every day.
“thats right Candida ....Now get over it and stop whining.”
And make me a sandwich!
Candida? Yep. Had it each time I nursed our three kids. It’s a Hillary to get rid of, too. Thank God for gentian violet. Whatever does a persistent fungus have to do with women and the Pope?
Maybe, if Jenkins knew what shame was.
I went into raptures when one of our churches let girls be altar boys. That was fifteen years ago.
She probably doesn’t know how.
Home Ecc classes being sexist and all! LOL

“Francis has made it clear that he sees childbearing ... as [a] crucial womanly role...”
Cue up “Life of Brian” for a guy demanding to be able to give birth...
The church does not have the authority to ordain women nor will it ever have...
Ugh. Feminists give a bad name to real women. Women are DYING in the ME, and they’re all hung-up on what the Catholic Church thinks. The Church has no authority over the policies of the governments of the world, so who really cares unless you’re Catholic?
“Francis has made it clear that he sees childbearing and child rearing as crucial womanly roles.”
Uh, that proves he’s not insane. Perhaps not “good”, but he’s not insane. Men, real men, cannot give birth to children.
Not just a Catholic view on women - a Biblical view. Many ignore the parts where women step up because men don’t take care of their responsibilities as family/spiritual leaders, but the Bible honors several of these women for their roles. My wife witnessed to me for years before I finally caught on and offered myself to Jesus in order to accept His incredible gift. She also expects me to “man-up” and assume my proper roles as a Christian man.
Want fries with that?
I honest-to-jeepers did laugh out loud on that.
When I was nursing my firstborn, I had a Hillary of a case of Candida, too, plus a cyst and that meant pain and an upset baby that was so awful that I almost quit nursing (and I was highly motivated to nurse.) Thank God for La Leche League: one of these dear bosom buddies actually phoned me to ask how I was dong, and I burst into tears to explain how I was a failure, the baby was going to starve to death, sobbing, etc. She very calmly and very kindly told me exactly what to do:
Anyhow it was the best advice I ever had, and absolutely saved the nursling and me, paving the way for (objectively described) mamababybliss.
Can anyone imagine Ms Candida Moss being any use at all in a situation like that? ("Nursing a baybeeee? How limiting, how demeaning, how trivial!") I dread to think.
Do you know better now?
Exactly, and that's the irony of it. She's demanding a papal diktat, when the actual basis of the ruling on the male charism of the priesthood was not papal power, but papal powerlessness. The Pope "does not have the authority"--nor does any other person or body in the Church have the authority, to change the matter of a Sacrament.
She does not want a limited papacy. She wants an absolute monarchy: with somebody peculiarly resembling Candida Moss wearing the tiara!
