So looking at this from Luke's perspective...remember he's the writer, Mary had already been favored with grace just before she was pregnant with Christ. So somewhere between 6 and 4 BC she was favored with grace by God.

If Mary had not sinned, she wouldn't need God's grace. Only sinners need grace.

This business of Mary being sinless will be the basis for the fifth Marian dogma proclaiming her co-redeemer.

Satan will do whatever he can and use whoever he can to remove Jesus as the One and only who can forgive sins.

It’s quite amazing the hoops they have to jump through in order to squeeze and remold scripture to “fit” the beliefs of their Mary.

It’s as though at all costs Mary must come out smelling like a Rose and Jesus the afterthought. Every argument with Catholicism ‘centers’ on Mary....that’s not going to change you know....for without their Mary and the Priesthood their entire belief system would fall like a deck of cards.
