Do you think that your characterization of these Church leaders as "a bunch of left wing weenies" might violate Canon 212?: In accord with the knowledge, competence, and preeminence that they possess, [the laity] have the right and even at times a duty to manifest to the sacred pastors their opinion on matters that pertain to the good of the Church, and they have a right to make their opinion known to the other Christian faithful with due regard for the integrity of faith and morals and reverence toward their pastors, and with consideration for the common good and the dignity of persons. Pope JP II fought against the "Culture of Death" in word and deed until his dying breath. Can anyone claim that bishops who lend their support to a political party which promotes death and perversion as a core tenet remain in communion with Christ and His Church?

Regarding Canon 212, it can be reasonably argued that the common good and the dignity of persons (and most importantly, the right to life) may be more effectively defended with bluntness than with obsequiousness. If a pastor molests an altar boy, he is a pervert, and if a pastor supports socialists, he is a socialist (aka left wing weenie). Truth is truth.
