No problem! Just haven’t been called that for quite a while.
(Been called a lot of other things, of course.)
Allah is a false god. He is not the God of the Bible. If he is anything, he is a demon or even Satan himself.
The lady was right in what she did, boldly proclaiming Jesus Christ as the only Way to salvation. The time for “politeness” in the face of evil not only is long gone, but never really was.
You mean other than He tells us in His word which prayers He hears? You may want to investigate what He has to say about that in His word. And you may want to check out the attitude of the owner of this site towards those who oppose the one true God also.
So do you think our Arabic-speaking brothers should abandon the word for “God” in Arabic to Muslims, when they had used it for some centuries before Islam existed?
BTW, in Arabic Bibles, the Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic words for God are all translated as Allah.
As for whether her methods were appropriate or not, I can’t help thinking of all those incidents in the New Testament where Jesus Christ and his apostles boldly disrupted pagan religious services to proclaim Jesus Christ as savior.
Ohh, wait...
It’s not a stupid lib tactic, it’s a valid question. It’s not the least distracting within this thread. If you cannot answer, just say so. You’re the one that said they knew what prayers God hears, I’m just asking for some more detail.
Thanks, I was wondering how long I would have to wait before someone intimated he might be forced to tattle to Daddy.
I am opposing what seems to me to be loose logic and bad theology. If that constitutes opposing the one true God, so be it.
Seems to me more like opposing you, but then possibly you believe X = Y.
Every single FReeper needs to read that book.
Yeah, OK.
Like the man says. http://images.sodahead.com/polls/001358155/u_has_a_smell_xlarge.jpeg
Allah = SATAN.
Better to use the name “Yawah” to call God God.
AMEN.
Surely you don’t think that because in Arabic Bibles God is translated “allah” that it means the God of Christianity is the same as the Muslim god. If you do, then there’s really nothing I can say to you.
Yahweh, or Jehovah, or YHWH do not translate into English as God.
They are variants of His personal name. God, of course,is a title or common noun, not a name.
In Hebrew the words for God are Elohim and El. Which are of course cognate with the Aramaic Alahah and Arabic Allah. Given the difficulties with transliterating from a Semitic to Roman alphabet, these are all pretty much the same word.
Try reading post 80. What we’re talking about here is the difference between the reality and the word that refers to the reality. The map vs. the territory if you will.
The Allah of the Koran and the God of the Bible are certainly not the same person.
However, the Allah worshipped by Arabic-speaking Christians and the God worshipped by English-speaking Christians is the same.
Why should Christians agree that only Muslims can use a word that Christians used for centuries before Islam existed?
Christians worship one God, no matter what their nationality is—Arab, Chinese, Indian, whatever. There is one God and one way to Him: Jesus. That’s all.
Nitpicking scripture? Seriously? You’re going to argue about Gods word because you don’t like parts?
Jesus died for everyones sins. We are not to judge whether someone is worthy but are tasked with communicating the message and get out of Gods way.
Someone who ‘nitpicks’ scripture should worry about themselves before preaching to others.
Is Manson worthy? Is the guy in Cleveland who kidnapped those girls for ten years worthy? Is the woman who beat her baby with a belt worthy? I can go on and on. Yes, you are right, we can not discern what these people do in the last moments of their lives. But I am pretty sure those guys that rammed the jets into the WTC and Pentagon were not asking Christ for forgivemess when they died. Many times Jesus states that there will be a lot a people going into the darkness where there will be wailing and ghashing of teeth. Even those who say they believed in him.
“I did not say I did not like parts of the Bible. I am stating that you are nitpicking from scripture to give the impression that all will be saved. “
Blasphemy.
The scripture is the scripture. It says that Jesus died for everyones sins which includes people such as those. God decides who gets saved, not you or I.
