Sometimes (often ...) children are looking to excuse themselves and avoid saying, "I knew X was wrong, but I did it anyway." The more tools we can give their consciences - to remind them that, yes, they really do know this is wrong - the more likely they are to make a right choice when it's time.

Spiritual Armour! I worked with JR. high kids and they would rather die than stick out. It's just the age. I very wise youth leader taught me this. She said they already think they are on a stage and everyone is looking at them. That is why they are so sensitive to everything.
