Actually The Journey Home doesn't just feature former Protestants. There are also Jews, atheists, and people from other faiths. But you do see more Protestants because it's a shorter step from Protestantism to Catholicism than atheism or Hinduism to Catholicism.

you see more protestants because the show is about scoring points against protestantism, not about winning souls for christ. i stopped listening because I found it very disturbing - i could start to understand how the Inquisition happened. there’s something in a lot of catholics that makes them uncomfortable with the idea that anyone would dare be a christian and not belong to the roman church. they’re more intolerant of non-catholic christians than of people who don’t believe in Christ to begin with. that’s the definite vibe i get form “The Journey Home”
