From what I have read, the Catholic hierarchy in Germany is corrupt in almost any way you want to define that term.

When I taught 8th grade religion, I asked my students to list all the things you would expect to find in "corrupt clergy." The class came up with quite a cumulative list. And I told them: remember this. This is what you WILL find when so-called Catholics become quasi-Catholic, post-Catholic, and anti-Catholic.

And that goes 10x over for judas priests.

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/german-bishops-caught-in-massive-porn-scandal-why-didnt-they-listen-to-the

COLOGNE, October 31, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - After ten years of being internally warned by faithful Catholics, including in a 70-page dossier sent to all of Germany’s main bishops, the scandal of the German bishops’ ownership of a publishing company that sells a large volume of porn has hit the mainstream media.

Last week the mainstream media outed the fact that the German bishops are 100% owners of one of the most profitable book companies in Germany. The huge company, in addition to offering many religious and other ethical books and items, also peddles 2500 porn titles and additional books highly offensive to Christian principles.

A spokesman for the bishops promised immediate corrective action. However, the false pretense of ignorance about the situation has only served to add to the scandal, especially for faithful Catholics who were treated with silence and even disdain when they repeatedly attempted for years to bring the scandal to an end out of public view. Marx - Germany's New Luther?

Hardly, doesn't spend enough time in God's Word to be Luther as evidenced by the lack of scriptural support for his position. Francis as Leo X? Maybe you got something there. Catholic Church adrift, supports practice over God's Word, no indulgence scam but plenty of Liberation Theology/Communism.

Marx - Germany's New Luther?

If by Luther, you mean the anti-Luther, then sure.

Marx says the church's doctrine "can develop over time."

Luther says the church's doctrine should be in agreement with the inspired word of God.

See the difference?

I would say this is a bunch of hysteria but I’ve experienced it and it is ugly.

I must say, this business sure doesn’t make Pope Francis look good. It was already worrying, the way he chose heretics to lead this Synod—and put them in some other key positions, as well.

More than anything, the Church hierarchy needs to be cleaned out. Pope Benedict seemed unable to do much about the problem, and now things seem to be going the wrong way again.

CORRECTION:

Very similar to the American bishops’ financing of pro-abortion groups through the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. They keep getting caught, they attack the muckrakers, then they promise to clean things up, then they get caught again. This keeps happening because most of the staff at the USCCB, and the politically-active bishops, are lifelong pro-abortion Democrats. They just can’t help themselves.

This is absurd, beyond satire, this is sick...Words cannot describe the utter moral degradation of the German Church hierarchy...God help us all, especially faithful Germans trying to live the faith in the morally-bankrupt miasma that is the German Church.
