’Twas a sheep not a lamb
That strayed away in the parable Jesus told,
A grown-up sheep that strayed away
From the ninety and nine in the fold.
And why for the sheep should we seek
And earnestly hope and pray?
Because there is danger when sheep go wrong:
They lead the lambs astray.
Lambs will follow the sheep, you know,
Wherever the sheep may stray.
When sheep go wrong,
It won’t take long till the lambs are as wrong as they.
And so with the sheep we earnestly plead
For the sake of the lambs today,
For when the sheep are lost
What a terrible cost
The lambs will have to pay.

Think of Luke 15 and John 10, which speaks of the parable of the forgiving father and the good sheperd.

A true message that cuts to the heart, but how many happy healthy people would call out to God?

Samson was a happy healthy lad, but he was also wrapped up in himself, I doubt he gave God much thought until he got into trouble, Samson was near death both times that he prayed to God, his prayers had nothing to do with religion as he was very serious.

When I think of how the lives of kids are shattered by a society that will use sex to sell every thing from chewing gum to fancy cars it gives me some consolation to remember what Jesus told us.

Matt 9:12
But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

“Woe to the pastors, that destroy and tear the sheep of my pasture, saith the Lord.”

“And seeing the multitudes, he had compassion on them: because they were distressed, and lying like sheep that have no shepherd.”
