Perhaps this is why those committed to the primacy of the Scriptures don't issue such documents. No question, goofy characters like Osteen, McLaren, Bell make equally ridiculous claims, but these too are a product of abandoning the Book.

That's a nice fantasy but it's quite untrue.

Their take on Scripture is simply different from yours. They read the same Scriptures as you but interpret and understand them differently.

Which brings us to the point....who are you to contradict them? Why does your theology carry any more gravitas than theirs? Who appointed you the custodian of Scriptural propriety?

Authority.....it always comes back to authority.

They (and the remainder of the Protestant universe) have not "abandoned the Book". They've abandoned the apostolic tradition which is essential for its understanding.
