The Catholic Church is the on Christian Church in the world that has never succumbed to the world. Should I count the protestant faiths that allow abortion, women clergy, and homosexual pastors? None of this sin has ever been condoned by the Catholic Church and never will be. Doctrine does not change.
Protestant denominations have experienced a massive schism in the last half-century, so that there are now, e.g., American Baptists, PCUSA, and ELCA (heterodox) and Southern Baptists, PCA/ARP, and LCMS/WELS (orthodox). Other Protestant denominations have gone heterodox, such as UCC and UMC.
The Catholic Church has historically not been immune from schismatic elements, and if they were to gain ascendancy in Rome in this era, then the church would have to look elsewhere for leadership that clings to orthodoxy.

They’ve never been condoned by this believer, either. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, somehow or other gave me this wisdom without the help of the Catholic Church.
