"You claim Peter as the first pope. Did Peter wear opulent, flashy robes? Did he wear a tall hat? Did he carry a blinged out, gilded shepherds staff?"
Get serious, there are better arguments against the papacy than that. Jesus and his disciples didn't wear suits and ties - does that mean a modern preacher can't wear a suit and tie? Is Charles Stanley a fraud because he wears a modern suit and tie? But even on it's own level, your argument breaks down - the garments of priests and monks are based on ancient models, closer in time to the type of garments worn by members of the early church.

Did Peter know he was Pope? Even Roman Catholic researchers have conceded that he did not. Would Peter have been horrified at the prospect of being claimed as Pontifex Maximus, the very title of Nero, Caligula and all the other Roman heads of their pagan state religion, the one that killed him?

Get serious
I am. Catholics on FR claim their traditions come from the early church and what Peter taught.
I don’t care if a pastor wears a suit or bluejeans as long as the teaching is firmly within scripture.

(Why do you need a fire extinguisher when you can call the fire department?)
