One, exiled to Malta, the other, the teacher of "serene theology".
Go Cardinal Burke! Prayers up!
If the Bishops can’t destroy the Church, no one can.
And now that he's been exiled, false collegiality is dropped - which IMO is what Kasper had identified as the issue the papacy had Burke in the first place:
....Regarding the upcoming publication of the five cardinals' book right before the synod: "Yes it is a problem. I don't remember a similar situation, in which in such organized manner five cardinals would write such a book. That's the way politicians operate, but in the Church we should not behave like that.
-- from the thread Interview excerpts: Cardinal Kasper responds
“...that the Catholic understanding of the indissolubility of marriage is based on the clear words of Jesus Christ...”
This isn’t the only angle to take on the discussion.
Why not phrase the question from the angle of “Is the Blessed Sacrament” truly the sacred presence of Jesus Christ and (if so) as such does He demand holiness (being free of mortal sin) as a prerequisite to receive Him worthily (in the sacrament)?
Is Cardinal Kasper a ‘60s holdover? I wonder where he stands on Humanae Vitae
So when did Burke get “exiled to Malta”. Last time I checked he was still the current Cardinal Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura.
