not going into debt
not worshiping money
not committing adultery
not worrying
being happy and content
not being jealous and envious of others
being good stewards of the earth
loving your neighbor
giving instead of receiving
ALL of these things and everything else in the bible WILL lead you to have a happier, healthier, wealthier, more content and fulfilled life.
Loving God and doing our best to live our life as he has directed us DOES direct benefit us.

What I am saying is the purpose of our lives is to fellowship with Him.
That is why we were made. That is my benefit. to worship Him, the Creator of all things.. I am promised an inheritance. I need not worry about me, here or now. The enemy runs this rock for now and that includes the world of religion.
