Most are veterans of the jihad with extensive experience in Afghanistan or, on the domestic front of the Moluccas. Jakarta: some areas are "fertile ground" for enrollment.
Jakarta (AsiaNews) - It has yet to make any startling conquests in the Asian nation, but the Indonesian section of the Islamic State (formerly ISIS, Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) has already started mass recruitment - as recently reported- in over 16 provinces of the archipelago. In particular, Aceh, the westernmost and majority Muslim area, is turning into a sort of haven for Sunni extremists, with the active brainwashing and indoctrination, especially of young people. According to a survey published in the local Serambi newspaper, in at least 21 districts of Aceh there is a massive infiltration of militants, as thousands took the oath of allegiance to the head of the Caliphate, the fundamentalist leader Abu Bakar Al-Baghdadi.
Last week, a man identified as Abu Jundullah said to be the head of the Islamist movement in Aceh; the foundation of the group dates back to the 1st January 2014, as the leader says "we are not the Indonesian branch of IS, but act directly under the leadership of Al-Baghdadi and we are all inhabitants of Aceh".
For the Indonesian Islamic leader Jundullah the presence of an Islamic State is explained by the "great work" done in Syria and Iraq; most affiliates in Aceh are jihadist veterans from the wars in Afghanistan and violent inter-religious conflict in Ambon and Moro, the Moluccas, 1999-2002.

I’m confident that the Beast’s religion will be Islam. That’s why this talk of a restored Caliphate (with the Mahdi at its head, of course) should be cause for concern.
1. The Muslims believe some parts of the Christian Bible. In Revelation 6:2 Christians believe the evil man on the white horse is the Antichrist. The Muslims welcome him as their Mahdi, conquering and to conquer.
2. The Mahdi will come at the End Times and strive to conquer the world for Islam. He’ll be assisted by Isa, Son of Mary. Yes, he’ll claim “Jesus” as his sidekick, and they deny Jesus is the Son of God, but rather only a PROPHET. They’ll be able to perform miraculous feats.
3. The Antichrist and the False PROPHET will do the same thing for the Beast religion. The Bible further identifies the False PROPHET in Rev. 13:11 as having two horns like a lamb, but speaks as Satan. Jesus Christ is referred to as the Lamb of God throughout Revelation.
4. The Beast religion will behead those who oppose it (Rev. 20:4). Islam’s barbarism includes beheading as a regular way of dealing with those who oppose it.
5. The Mahdi will have an instant 1 billion bloodthirsty followers eagerly willing to do his bidding.
6. Muslims already wear the shahadatan on their right arms or on their foreheads when going into jihad, the blasphemous “there is no god but allah and mohammed is his messenger.” This phrase in Arabic closely resembles the numbers 666 in Hebrew.
7. This would be a satanically elegant final solution to the “Christian problem.” The purported leader of Christianity, supposedly Christ Himself, will come forward and declare nobody should’ve ever worshiped him and continuing to do so will result in beheading.

I remember at the time, they were hardest hit, yet they were “offended” by American relief workers who weren’t “dressed modestly”.
