......”(Islam)...took over large areas of northern Iraq overnight.. have forced thousands of Christians to flee and occupied churches, removing crosses and destroying manuscripts”......

Doing what Islam does...They would not have attempted this without the “numbers” to gain the advantage.

Meanwhile they continue to ‘multiply’ in our country....and our government refuses to acknowledge the threat.

These beasts don't care about such things...they are all about conquering and fighting. Nothing more.

Here they are in London...

No other choice.

Iraq was disregarding all UN resolutions.

you can’t allow that to continue forever. At some point you have to.enforce what you say.

Yep. Bush built the coffin and ODimwit drove in the last nail.

Should NEVER have invaded. Monumental error of historic proportions.

It's strange that there aren't million man marches in cities across Europe and America calling for the end to ISIS and all the other ISIS like groups killing hundreds every day in countries around the world. Seems like it's all about America when these huge protests come about. This is fact. The left can say that America was unjustified in going to Iraq and Afghanistan...It was all about oil or something like it...but... Are ISIS and it's sub groups in the ME and Africa somehow justified in their murder and nation building? Is war defined by the left as involving only America?

ISIS could set up gas chambers and camps in Iraq and the libs would be too concerned with Israel and Gaza and America. Any call to stop the gassing would be met with accusations of racism and war mongering.

We could had overthrown Saddam and his sons, allow one of the Ba’athist Generals to become President. Today, Iraq would be more like Egypt.

That was my hope from the very beginning, and I cringed like hell when the Bush Administration said it was going to wipe away the Ba'athists.

I don't find it particularly strange at all. Europe, having allowed itself to be intractably infested with large numbers of radical muslims, quivers at the thought of offending them. Americans have a fear of offending muslims as well, but they're gripped more by apathy and ignorance than anything else. Most don't care or even have a clue what's happening "over there." The only way this will grab Americans' attention is if they're directly and personally affected.

Dubya’s invasion of Iraq, although with good intentions, was a mistake

I disagree. It wasn't the invasion that was a mistake, it was how we handled the victory that was a mistake. We went in as liberators, when we should have gone in as conquerors.

Prayer for Iraq

O God, who art the unsearchable abyss of peace,
the ineffable sea of love, the fountain of blessings
and the bestower of affection,
who sendest peace to those that receive it;

Open to us this day the sea of thy love
and water us with plenteous streams
from the riches of thy grace
and from the most sweet springs of thy kindness.

Make us children of quietness and heirs of peace,
enkindle in us the fire of thy love;
sow in us thy fear;
strengthen our weakness by thy power;
bind us closely to thee and to each other
in our firm and indissoluble bond of unity:

Syrian Clementine Liturgy (in: For all God’s people; p. 73)

Litany for Iraq

For lasting peace in this ancient land – From you, O Lord.
For wisdom and compassion for all in authority – From you, O Lord.
For comfort for families separated or bereaved – From you, O Lord.
For the release of captives – From you, O Lord.
For safety and security for minority communities.
For refreshment for the weary and healing for the sick – From you, O Lord.
For continuing faithfulness of the ancient churches of this land – From you, O Lord.
For tenacity of spirit for small Christian groups – From you, O Lord.
For the mutual enrichment and support of those of different Christian traditions – From you, O Lord.

You, Lord of all, we confess;
You, Lord Jesus, we glorify;
For you are the life of our bodies
And you are the Saviour of our souls.

The response in the litany and this hymn both come from the Chaldean liturgy. The ancient hymn celebrates Christ the source of resurrection in all situations of death and deprivation. (in: With All God’s People, p. 21, 22)

That was my hope from the very beginning, and I cringed like hell when the Bush Administration said it was going to wipe away the Ba'athists.

The original plan was to keep the Ba'athist government intact. Then Paul Bremer and CPA decided to expel everybody from the government. All of sudden, you have 100,000 unemployed young men who have nothing better to do with their time.

200,000 people turn and run??? If they are too cowardly to defend themselves, why should someone expect others to lay down their lives for them???
