In US, atheists know religion better than believers.
And then nothing in the article backs up that assertion.
I looked that survey over very carefully and it was worth doing. Atheists did better on all religions, as if that was most important. And Mormoms were said to do better than Christians on Christianity, because there happened to be a section on Mormonism (maybe due to Romney). But the growing apathetic group, considered the allies of atheists, brought the unaffiliated scores dramatically. And evangelicals and I believe black Protestants did better on Christianity and-or the Bible. Going by memory with all this, but the news media wanted to trumpet that about “non-believers knowing most.”
That wasn’t a poll of bible knowledge or of Christian knowledge.
