Many are deceived by the feel good religions of today.
Teaching what God says ... is what is to be, is the path to walk.
The churches are looking to attract members and our society, government, television programing and most all public dialogues are minimizing God and the importance of the HOLY SCRIPTURES.
Are we becoming 100% secular
God forgive America for our turning aside.
That makes sense, but it just looks uncomfortable for the baby.
That’s Sofia Coppola, btw.
Yes, I know. And Francis Ford Coppola’s father is the piano player in the scene when they “go to the mattresses.”
:)
I love that movie. I could talk about it all day.
I love 1 & 2. They’re modern morality plays, imho.
Sadly, no. According to the article, they test-marketed this. Faith through polling.
The Anglican Church sailed on their voyage to Godlessness long ago. In 1906, they changed a verse of the well known hymn, He Who Would Valiant Be to expunge foul language. The offending verse:
Hobgoblin nor foul fiend
Can daunt his spirit,
He knows he at the end
Shall life inherit.
Then fancies fly away,
Hell fear not what men say,
Hell labor night and day
To be a pilgrim.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Awww, did they get their widdle feewings hurt?
What are they going to do when they stand before God and HE tells them they're sinners and where they end up?
Whine at Him?
People are getting not offended right into hell.
As John Cleese said in that famous Schewpp’s add,”Try Schwepps,If it doesn’t inconvienience you.”
I believe that had the third movie NOT been a sequel (e.g. just a story about an aging Mafioso facing his own immorality and the politics of his empire), that it would be regarded as a very good Mafia movie. Unfortunately, it was a sequel to two masterpieces and it simply doesn't stand up. The fact that it was released at the same time as "Goodfellas" diminishes it even more.
I think the thing that really made the first two movies was Robert Duvall's portrayal of Tom Hagen. On the surface he was very calm and nonviolent, but in reality he was possibly the coldest and most ruthless of all.
Demonstrating the notable cynical and insane dualism of Cosa Nostra, extended through their influence on the Vatican Bank and historically many other I-banks... vs. the statist world bankers of a different stripe and enforcement division (tongue in cheek, LOL).
Sheen was correct— Satan is quite real. The oft reviled rural true believers have known this all along. The Louvin Brothers, “Satan is Real” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcRG_HkkoPA
The Archbishop of Canterbury is a church that asks nothing of believers, and hence constantly losing members to islam, neo-paganism (they tried an outreach to this looney anglo group). No wonder the empire is reduced to pomp and circumstance and also slim wonder that the US copying these idiots will fail also.
A hymn, psalm, or anthem may be sung.

Thanksgiving over the Water
The Celebrant blesses the water, first saying
The Lord be with you.
People And also with you.
Celebrant Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
People It is right to give him thanks and praise.
Celebrant
We thank you, Almighty God, for the gift of water.
Over it the Holy Spirit moved in the beginning of creation.
Through it you led the children of Israel out of their bondage
in Egypt into the land of promise. In it your Son Jesus
received the baptism of John and was anointed by the Holy
Spirit as the Messiah, the Christ, to lead us, through his death
and resurrection, from the bondage of sin into everlasting life.
We thank you, Father, for the water of Baptism. In it we are
buried with Christ in his death. By it we share in his
resurrection. Through it we are reborn by the Holy Spirit.
Therefore in joyful obedience to your Son, we bring into his
306 Holy Baptism
fellowship those who come to him in faith, baptizing them in
the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
At the following words, the Celebrant touches the water
Now sanctify this water, we pray you, by the power of your
Holy Spirit, that those who here are cleansed from sin and
born again may continue for ever in the risen life of Jesus
Christ our Savior.
To him, to you, and to the Holy Spirit, be all honor and
glory, now and for ever. Amen.
Consecration of the Chrism
The Bishop may then consecrate oil of Chrism, placing a hand on the
vessel of oil, and saying
Eternal Father, whose blessed Son was anointed by the
Holy Spirit to be the Savior and servant of all, we pray you to
consecrate this oil, that those who are sealed with it may
share in the royal priesthood of Jesus Christ; who lives and
reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen.
Each candidate is presented by name to the Celebrant, or to an assisting

and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Holy Baptism 307
When this action has been completed for all candidates, the Bishop or
Priest, at a place in full sight of the congregation, prays over them, saying
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we thank you that by water and the Holy
Spirit you have bestowed upon these your servants the
forgiveness of sin, and have raised them to the new life of
grace. Sustain them, O Lord, in your Holy Spirit. Give them
an inquiring and discerning heart, the courage to will and to
persevere, a spirit to know and to love you, and the gift of joy
and wonder in all your works. Amen. Then the Bishop or Priest places a hand on the person's head, marking
on the forehead the sign of the cross [using Chrism if desired] and saying to
each one
N., you are sealed by the Holy Spirit in Baptism and marked
as Christ's own for ever. Amen.Or this action may be done immediately after the administration of the

People And also with you.
308 Holy Baptism
That baby is Sofia Coppola, the producer's daughter who played Micheal's daughter in GF III.
“The Catholic Church should seriously consider whether these baptisms are valid going forward. The intent must be the intent of the Church and removal of the Devil certainly doesnt seem to be the same intent.”
I agree with you here, this does present a serious theological question regarding the sacrament of baptism, the one sacrament that Rome recognized as valid among all “Protestant Christian confessions” that held correct Trinitarian Doctrine. There were some American Protestants a few years ago what were planning to use Modalist-Functional language in Baptisms, i.e. Creator, Redeemer, Sanctifier, etc. and even the US Bishops showed some backbone and stated such Baptisms would be seen by the Catholic Church has “invalid”
It's good to test market important sacramental practices. Wouldn't want anyone being uncomfortable. I hope the focus groups had a proper contingent of minorities! Not to mention representatives from the GLBT community.
Honestly, I had to triple check this wasn't from the Onion. I never thought it would be even possible to see so plainly, the destruction of a society and/or religion.
I wonder when the water will be removed, as it might make the baby uncomfortable! (Actually I'm surprised that wasn't done first). That will truly be a sad day should it occur. Then Anglican baptisms will no longer be valid.
And when King Charles the Obtuse becomes head of the Church of England he will be the last one.
