For if individuals could correctly interpret Scripture, then all interpretations would be exactly the same as there can only be one Spiritual Truth for the plural of the word "truth" never appears in Scripture. Give us a link to a commentary on the Bible written by the infallible magisterium which tells us the *correct* interpretation of the Bible. If only the Catholic is correct in how it interprets Scripture, because they allegedly have the same interpretation for its entire 2,000 year history, it ought to be written down by now. So which of the ECF's has the correct interpretation?
