You're correct. It's worth pointing out that this is just the Presbyterian Church (USA) denomination, not all Presbyterians.
For perspective, the five largest Presbyterian denominations in the USA (according to Wikipedia) are:
PC-USA: 1,849,496 members
Presbyterian Church in America: 364,019 members
Evangelical Presbyterian Church: 160,000 members
Cumberland Presbyterian Church: 87,000 members
Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church: 39,000 members
So it covers a convincing majority of American Presbyterians.
It will be interesting and informative to see what almost 2 million Presbyterians do, and where they go, now that the PC-USA is officially the Church of Sodomy.
The General Assembly voted Thursday in favor of redefining Christian marriage in the church constitution as the union of "two people" instead of "a man and a woman." The redefinition will take effect only if most of the 172 regional Presbyteries approve it in voting over the next year.
Interesting. The "General Assembly" voted for sodomitic apostasy ... now it's to the individual segments for a vote.
And it's a gross (in all senses) and obvious violation of Scripture ... how the heck does something like this even come up for a vote in a supposedly Christian group?
My question of each of you is which Presbyterian groups are still strongly supporting marriage of one man and one woman as provided in Scripture?
I would also add that there is no victory for anyone but Satan in this action of PCUSA. Each and every Christian of whatever denomination should be horrified by this action and all of us should pray for those in PCUSA whose faith has been betrayed by PCUSA leadership. To which Presbyterian group do each of you believe that PCUSA members of Scriptural loyalty and belief will go and why?
Finally, is there a group who identify as Westminster Profession Presbyterians, reportedly a very morally orthodox group?
May God bless both of you and yours.
you left out he "YET." Baptists, PCA,. various Lutherans, and a couple of Methodists. 3-5 years and it will the Catholics standing alone against this.
