Yeah, I've been reading the edicts of the First Vatican Council. In it they say you can't rely on Scripture alone....interesting.

Indeed even the Holy Bible itself, which they at one time claimed to be the sole source and judge of the Christian faith, is no longer held to be divine, but they begin to assimilate it to the inventions of myth.

I would think the catholic church has been the one assimilating a lot of inventions of myth.....

And then we have Paul saying, "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.".....nothing in there about needing all that tradition as espoused in the FVC.

Tell you what...I'll stick with Christ and the Bible and you can feel free to add whatever you want to support your non-Biblical traditions.

Yes I understand, Scripture isn't Scripture unless each individual decides to call it Scripture. That way the individual is free to throw Scripture they don't want to deal with in the garbage and to ignore major portions of Scripture they don't throw out.

Those who throw out Scripture and instead of Christ put their faith in their own, Most High and Holy Self generally have a single verse for every occasion as if the entire Word of God doesn't apply to them, only the verses they like as they choose to apply those verses.

"Heaven and earth shall pass, but my words shall not pass."

Of course, Christ didn't mean that people shouldn't throw out portions of Scripture they don't like, right??

As always, the Dog goes "Bow Wow", the Cow goes, "Mooo", and the Protestant goes, "that's what Scripture says but that's not what it means".
