“No part of God’s word was originally given in Greek”

Please prove your silly claim. I look forward to the staggering evidence that will support your universal statement: “no part”.

Is this what Rood has taught you? Or is this a result of your personal historical, linguistic and archeological research?

The Hebrew Roots Movement (HRM) is, in the final analysis, yet another attack on Scripture, analogous to the many "restorationist" cults that have gone before. Such groups always begin with discrediting the Scriptures universally accepted by Christians as the word of God. In this process they all resemble each other, though the method of attack used by Islam is strikingly similar to the attack used by the HRM. The idea is that the originals were all lost or seriously mangled by the early believers, and all we have now are corrupt, unreliable copies.

This of course gives them the opportunity to "rescue" us by leading us back to the "original" teaching, which, BTW, they cannot document to exist. For example, best estimates for the alleged Hebrew copies of Matthew indicate they were all written well over a thousand years after the oldest Greek copies, and in some cases appear to have been written with deliberate intent to deflect Christian missions among the Jews of the diaspora.

As for alleging Luke or Acts to have been written originally in Hebrew, this reflects a laughable ignorance of the literary accomplishments of Doctor Luke, whose authorship presents some of the finest First Century Greek we have, and positively reflects a skilled Gentile thinking and writing in Greek. Not to mention he was writing specifically for a Gentile reader of Greek, one Theophilus.

There is much more to the HRM methodology. I'm out of time at the moment. Hopefully will provide more info later.

Peace,

SR
