I always hated this crap. It started about 15 years ago for some reason and everyone wanted to get on board.
First off I don’t need to draw attention to myself. From the looks of most of the participants, they should avoid drawing attention to themselves, or at least cover up the garish tattoos.
On the second point, I don’t want to hold anyone else’s hand. Too many people are scratching, nose picking, poor hand washing pigs and that is just my kids and I. I have enough problems with the ‘sign of peace’ some yokel always feels it is necessary to run up and down the aisles glad handing like he is running for County Sherriff. Enough already, a nod and a smile is all that is needed. If you sit up at the front row, normally no one is by you s a nod and smile is all that is needed. Ignore the glad hander.

I am a convert and when I was speaking to my priest about it, he told me it is the priest who offers supplication to Heaven. We are to be in an attitude of prayer.
This has to be the hysteria thread of the month, if not the year.
I never held hands until my most recent Church where it is the custom and a friend likes it.
However, meaning no offense to you or the author of this article, this kind of silly focus is what is wrong with the Catholic Church.
You think Jesus would get upset if we pray holding hands? Then add in “spreading the wealth”, kissing the Pope's ring, or the latest unBibilical stuff coming from the Vatican and it's just too artificial for me at times. That said, Catholic Churches have holiness down. You can feel the presence walking into many.
Liturgy is not scripture, it is a creation of men.
Yeshua didn’t say how to hold your hands when addressing the Father; do you know something Yeshua didn’t?
.
Me too. I do the same. Thankfully, the persons next to me have finally stopped nudging me from this posture to take their hand.
Unfortunately, the whole moment is made an invasion and distraction for me, and probably for them, that irritates me to no end, making me resent the lack of care on the part of the priesthood and bishop and RCIA teams for the cowardice and laxity to teach postures and back it up with chapter and verse as this article does.
How much trouble is it to pass down proper piety in postures?
Is it just toooooo hard?
