It is called modern communication. In the context of a daily homily, it is a way of making a point that everyone is called to receive baptism, no matter how they might appear in the eyes of the beholder. Taken out of the context and put into a headline, it sounds as if the Pope has issued a bull on the salvation of extra-terrestrials when in fact all that he has done is made a valid point in an effective way at a daily Mass.

If God created the universe then that included Martians. If the Martians are believers, then why should they be denied baptism?
