U.S. nuns must give up New Age ideas or lose Vatican recognition: CDF head to LCWR nuns

ROME, May 6, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The American Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR), which was placed under a mandate of reform by the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith last year, must drop its New Age ideas and return to the central teachings of the Catholic religion on Jesus Christ, the Trinity, and the nature of the Church, or risk being expelled as a recognized Catholic institution.

In an address to LCWR officials in Rome on April 30, Gerhard Müller, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), and Archbishop Peter Sartain of Seattle, the Holy See’s delegate to the LCWR, said that the Holy See “believes that the charismatic vitality of religious life can only flourish within the ecclesial faith of the Church.”

CDF - Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith

LCWR - The American Leadership Conference of Women Religious

I believe this was in the works while Pope Benedict XVI was Pope, but then Pope Benedict was battling liberals in the Vatican that was taking away from getting things like this done (in my opinion).

Can anyone explain what the ramifications of being “expelled as a recognized Catholic institution” would be? Would universities run by orders of sisters be no longer “Catholic”? (Such as Marymount University) Would sisters no longer be able to be licitly invited to speak at church events?

There may be nuns (and those nuns who are heads of religious orders) that may need to be ex-communicated BEFORE PRO-ABORTION POLITICIANS.

As someone who dedicates their life to Christ, they should know better. Those who dedicate their lives to politics are probably more the Devil's Pawn than someone of God (Nancy Pelosi as an example).

Who knows, but at least Mueller feels free to play the role of 'bad cop.' Thank God for him, as he seem like the voice of orthodoxy around the Vatican these days.

Ping.

This cardinal Muller was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI, so I think the LWCA needs to realize that he will not put up with their nonsense anymore.

Sounds like LWCR is close to getting tossed out!

Yes, they're still under indictment, if I may put it that way. And Pope Francis is quoted as saying, "You must pray to the Father, not to a cosmic god, a polytheistic model that comes from a rather light culture." LCWR doesn’t want to practice their particular beliefs. They want to practice those beliefs within the Catholic Church in order to undermine the teachings of the Church, and spread confusion and strife amongst Catholics.

They are, in other words, a guerrilla organization dedicated to psychological sabotage, punishment in the name of peace, and hypocrisy in the name of truth.

And they are Feminists.

Some folks had some trouble at Notre Dame:

Article:

Young Catholics Not Welcome at the University of Notre Dame

This is from FTP Student Action website.

They claim they sought permission and was granted permission to be on campus... I am not sure what happened...

Just FYI...

The Occam’s Razor answer may be that a number of these women are simply nuts.

My mom tried to befriend a number of nuns over the years. Each time she became shocked and horrified at some of the things they thought and really believed. We also had a couple within our extended family who were....well, err.....unusual.

It led my mom to conclude that a lifetime of celibacy does some very bad things to the female brain.
