He doesn't agree with something and instead of entering into a debate to present his "superior argument" he tries to shout down the other person. He fails at that so he tries to intimidate the other person. He fails at that so he tries to create a mob that will demean and shout down the other person.
It seems to me the bigger problem is no one is willing to confront the question what is the foundation of your truth.
I was seriously concerned that the ministers would be mobbed. I tried to get a bit closer to let them know they were not completely alone, but I wasn't able to get very clsoe. Eventually they left.
The contrast was striking -- the ministers standing firmly, preaching in measured tones and ignoring the mocking people pretending to be kneeling in prayer at their feet -- and the crowd screaming, jeering, angry, verging on violent...I was suprised not to hear a thing about it on the local news, but I suppose I shouldn't have been.
