Diary of a Country Priest was adapted into an acclaimed film by Robert Bresson. Interestingly, this movie was recommended to me recently (and I've viewed it twice so far) by one of the more outspoken anti-Catholicism commenters on Free Republic. I will forever be thankful for her tip, as the movie is extraordinary. We purchased from Amazon (paid $65; the quality is great), and, if interested, there are good reviews to read at the link too:
