6. We Increase Our Chances For Salvation - To put it simply, prayer will help you get to Heaven. Far from just “asking for things”, prayer is an expression of love and a relationship with God. When we pray, we show our love for God and express a desire to do His will. How important is that? Here’s what St. Alphonsus Liguori had to say…

Earn your salvation. So it's not by grace that you are saved?

Number six: We Increase Our Chances For Salvation? Excuse me?
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Did you read it to the end?

“Those WHO PRAY are CERTAINLY SAVED those who do not pray are certainly damned” (St. Alphonsus Liguori)

In other words just saying your saved without prayering is useless. Your faith is an action.

Indeed. Salvation has nothing whatsoever to do with “chance.” Salvation is by grace!

Muslims pray, are they saved? And I do not mean to be irreverent.

It matters not one iota what some Dr. St. Soundingbrass had to say. It only matters what the Bible says. And what he said did not come from Scripture.

Mormons pray. Jehovah’s Witnesses pray. Unitarians pray.

That assertion simply isn’t biblical.

Lost the entire intent here. The final line as a few have rightly said: salvation is by grace through the vicarious acceptance of the sacrificial death of Christ. Enough said.

** prayer is an expression of love and a relationship with God. When we pray, we show our love for God and express a desire to do His will.**

Nothing wrong with that.

OSAS is a false doctrine.

So can you go out an commit a murder and still be saved? No.
