Mitt Romney must own it. Every time he was talked about I thought Mormom was his first name.
Obama and Biden own five sixths of it! After all, the are MORONs.
And Obama and Biden worship at the altar of the Church of Woodrow Wilson and Latter Day Sinners, the MORONS.
Did they file a trademark on it?
If they haven’t protected Mormon as a trademark, no one owns it. Public domain.
Mostly Romneybots mentioned it. Those opposed to Mitt Romneycare focused on Socialized medicine, homosexual marriage, homosexuals in the boy scouts, abortion, and securing the border.
I believe the Mormon religion and church is largely a business enterprise, more of a corporate business/religion, even their after life and entrance into temples is based largely on a financial basis with firmly enforced rules on mandatory tithes in addition to other rules which are investigated, and if accepted, then proper church ID is issued to verify religious status.
Mormon is just one of many Frankenwords to spring from the forehead of Joseph Smith & into the book of collected fables of the same name.
There’s Mormon, Moroni, Mosiah, Ether, Nephi, Helaman, Omni, Lehi, Jarom, Alma, and...(first prize!)...SHIZ!!!
However, works of fiction can be copyrighted, so why shouldn’t the LDS claim clear title to “Mormon”?
So now the name presbyterian or protestant should be considered ‘special’ as well?
Copyright doesn’t extend to a title, and besides, the Book of Mormon is way old enough to be public domain.
Does Mormon dating include threesomes?
Nobody ever talks about the root meanings of the word:
“Mor”- Alone
“mon”- Man
Man Alone.
I agree, they made it all up, therefore it’s theirs. It should be treated in the same way as any other work of fiction.
Of course you’re right, I’m just thinking that the Church of LDS Inc. has the legal horsepower to sue the pants off anyone who “misuses” the term Mormon, especially if the target’s located in Utah or the intermountain corridor.
I wasn't aware that a private organization was being sued by a church/denomination for the unauthorized use of those terms.
And you don’t get absurdity through irony???
When it happens, you'll be permitted to call it "irony" :)
