The problem I have with your premise is that it defies logic, and also Scripture.

Paul is the most prolific writer of the New Testament for a reason. He was chosen by God to be an apostle, and he was inspired by the Holy Spirit to communicate to various groups of believers around the known world. His testimony of conversion reveals that he was already a follower of god, and due to the Damascus road experience, where God apprehended him, he became a valuable ally to the young church.

TV shows people crying when convicted, not repenting. Read the post and try to comprehend what I said.

Might be, but with my logic I do not get taken in by some one like Joseph Smith, who claims to have the exact kind of experience that Paul said he had.
