Took a while but I’m back at home base.
The largest most comprehensive study of the priest scandal was by John Jay School of Criminal Law, a division of College of NY. It is detailed, specific and covered a period of 60 years.
The report some 150 pages gets into the very nitty gritty of the problem of priest abuse is called:
“The Causes and Context of Sexual Abuse of Minors by Catholic Priests in the United States, 1950-2010”
I thought I knew right where that statistic was but I’m on page 31 an am lost in it.

It is time to put the kids to bed, but I will be getting the specifics of what I discussed.
One thing to note the abuse peaked in the early 70s and is now back to levels it was in the 50s.
One of the reasons is the Criminal background checks anyone who comes in contact with Catholic children goes thru.
