IF YOU ARE SAVED...THEN WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO WORK OUT??
AMDG
That was answered also by Paul in the "and what did Paul know that you dont??" department, of that which you had truncated (left off) the passage from Philippians which in continuation of his own writing of "what" is there to be worked out, did say;
Don't fight the power.
I'll leave the word to speak for itself, as much as I can while still speaking also, myself, adding here reminder of the scripture passage metmom brought in #469 such as 2 Corinthians 5:21.
Which regarding the children of God, is written;
15 for ye did not receive a spirit of bondage again for fear, but ye did receive a spirit of adoption in which we cry, `Abba -- Father.'
6 and because ye are sons, God did send forth the spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, `Abba, Father!'
7 so that thou art no more a servant, but a son, and if a son, also an heir of God through Christ.
It's ok. Relax. There is power in the Word, which in it's pages (when eaten as scroll, the entire Word) can be found the wonder-working power of the Lamb, figuratively speaking, of course -- as to the "eating". Yet not just figuratively, but by the Spirit and the waters, one too must be born again.
The Word too, as bread broken, shared as meal, when eaten (becoming our own "flesh" when digested) can become that bread that is Him. "This is my body", as Christ is attributed to having spoke -- and as John wrote --and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
"Let's get Mikey... He won't eat it. He hates everything."
Overcoming evil with good.
Having the mind of Christ.
Being renewed. Living a life that honors and glorifies God.
My salvation is complete and a done deal. I am seated with Christ in the heavenly places.
Here I still have my sin nature to deal with and maturing in Christ is what needs to be worked out.
