So I called. You’re ok. Fair use applies. The woman I spoke with was genuinely curious and I helped her find the post in question. So you’re good. The copyright police will not be coming after you.

She did mention, however, that perhaps you could better use your time doing embroidery. I’m not sure exactly why. Perhaps to calm your nerves. But that part wasn’t clear to me.

She also thought the idea of a biblical content contest was not feasible, owing to the wide range of biblical use in her experiences in both Catholic and Protestant settings. The idea of counting Amens as biblical references made her head hurt, as she put it.

She was very patient and kind, a pleasure to speak with. She was amazed at the length of the thread. Little does she know ...

My own idea on a contest would be direct testing of Biblical knowledge in good, representative samples. But as she pointed out, even preliminarily defining the right samples could be quite difficult.

Anyway, just thought you’d like to know.

Peace,

SR

I appreciate that you checked, many other will accuse (which you did not), but never will actually do the heavy lifting, the actual work, of finding out.

In response to one of the many questions, I stated we would not count any duplicates except the very first instance.

Agreed, too unwieldy, way too much heat and not any light.

However, there were several who made good, constructive suggestions.

It all happened because I believed my good, faithful, ‘church going’ protestant friend who said protestant services had less scripture that a Catholic Mass.

What I did not realize is the number of protestants on this forum who do not go to a ‘service’ on Sunday, so when they said that there was more scripture in a protestant service it was hearsay - just what I was being accused by them.

Well maybe someone like you can come up with a contest that will generate donations for FR.

BTW, Salvation, post the same daily Scripture readings from CCD for the Daily mass that I did, which she has done, I believe, for years. Here is today’s: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/3144090/posts

Thanks for the info.

Can you throw something out with no real evident planning, and add things as you go along? changes.

My own idea on a contest would be direct testing of Biblical knowledge in good, representative samples.

Maybe which side makes the most personal attacks, protests unfairness and pings the mod the most, while seeing no anti-Prot bigotry? Seems there already is a wealth of data on this. And yet cannot get themselves zotted by the supposedly biased admin, even on request .

But as she pointed out, even preliminarily defining the right samples could be quite difficult.

"Preliminarily defining?" Since when are such details necessary as a preliminary?
