During the Spanish Civil War, a dozen bishops, nearly eight thousand priests, and many religious Sisters were executed by the communists between 1936 and 1939. Most were offered their lives if they would give up their faith, and there is no recorded instance of any accepting the offer. I believe the Catholic Church is the true Faith; it has some very imperfect representatives. We’ve fallen very far from the time when eleven of Christ’s apostles (our first priests) accepted martyrdom for their faith.
Judas was also in their midst.
