the video he discusses is at the link. As a note, almost always, Msgr Pope has some video with each blog entry that, to one degree or another, relates to the blog post...so if you want to see the video he's selected for the day, please go to the link.

Anyway, I'm not certain what to make of this blog entry. He's correct in what he says (otherwise why post it?), but I'm always concerned that if there's too much "joy" (at least in my parish, that translates to "happy-clappy") during Lent that it tends to downplay the profound and intense nature of His passion and death and minimizes the price paid for our redemption.

But that could just be a matter of style.

(And don't get me wrong: I'm not saying that Msgr Pope is going all "happy clappy" on us in his dotage. )

I'd be interested in hearing other Catholics' views on that.
