Miracles do happen. We're just not to seek for them. We're told it's not polite. We're to seek to do God's will whatever path that should be.
Dan 3:16-18 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up."
We can ask or hope for them. If you mean seeking miracles just to get some entertainment or curiosity, then I agree.
Lk 23:8-9 When Herod saw Jesus, he was very glad, for he had long desired to see him, because he had heard about him, and he was hoping to see some sign done by him. So he questioned him at some length; but he made no answer.
Mt 9:21 For she said within herself: If I shall touch only his garment, I shall be healed.
Lk 7:7 For which cause neither did I think myself worthy to come to thee: but say the word, and my servant shall be healed.
