This is nonsense. Throughout his ministry Jesus mocked and used as foils the so called learned and Pharisees that quoted the Biblical passages literally. They were vapid then and they are vapid now.

Mt 4:10 Then Jesus saith to him: Begone, Satan: for it is written: The Lord thy God shalt thou adore, and him only shalt thou serve.

No, He condemned the traditions of men that the Pharisees put ahead of Scripture.

When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness by Satan, Jesus responded with *It is written....* quoting Scripture only.

The only thing vapid here is your argument.
