You may want to check out the evangelical support for Newt and Santorum in the southern primaries in 2012. If one of the two above bowed out prior to southern primaries, we might not have had to go with Romney.
Newt Gingrich is a Southerne conservative. Why not support him? Rick Santorum is conservative. Why not support him. Both theirproblems was getting liberal Catholics in the NE to support them. They are doughnut Christie voters.
