Only if you fail to believe God. I think those who try and add their good works as an aid to salvation have a faith deficit. Good works flow from faith but they add nothing to Christ’s sacrifice.

Then your argument fails logically. There’s a faith deficit of Christ.

I don’t mean to be contentious, just making a point that I think you’d agree with.

Faith and works are inseparable. Those that debate one versus the other are on a fool’s errand.

So the Catholic and Protestant views on this are really not different.

Sorry I could have been clearer. Should have said:

There’s NOT a faith deficit of Christ any more than there’s a works deficit..
