“He who has believed and been baptized shall be saved; but he who has not believed shall be condemned.” - Mark 16:16

“Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you - not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience - through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 3:21

YOu might want to read that again...In the first verse if you remove the believe, but still get baptized, you are condemned...

The second verse eliminates any kind of baby baptism so that illegitimizes baby baptism for all Catholics baptized as babies...

In ACTS 2, Peter preaches to the Jews and says...
Act 2:38

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

In Mark, Jesus said...

Mar 16:16

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Mar 16:17

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Baptism first, then signs.. HOWEVER, when Peter preached to Cornelius something different happened.

Act 10:43

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Act 10:44

While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

So, Cornelius received the Holy Spirit BEFORE he was baptized. Also, look close to the actual words Peter preached when the Holy Spirit fell on Cornelius.

So, was Cornelius saved when he believed or when he was baptized.

If BAPTISM is so important, why did Paul say this!
1Cr 1:17

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

There is NO Baptism command in Paul’s commission to preach to the Gentiles, even though he did.

What Peter preached in ACTS 10:43 is the same as Paul preached to the jailer. Compare.
Act 10:43 (Peter)

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Act 16:31(Paul)

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
